META Group and the Representation Office of the European Commission in Slovakia are organizing the first round of policy dialogue in the frame of the FP7 support action MIRRIS - Mobilizing Institutional Reform for Research and Innovation Systems. The aim of the project is understanding how innovation systems can better address the participation to the European Research Area of the EU-13 member states. During the first round of policy dialogue the main findings regarding the participation of the EU 13 countries with the focus on Slovakia will be presented.
The following topics of discussion will be addressed during the first policy dialogue:
· Structural factors affecting participation: R&D&I, funding regimes, policy mix, National ERA governance, HR, synergies with Structural funds and other issues;
· Performances of specific target group: i.e. the top three thematic area, SMEs participation;
· Further important factors that may affect the participation;
· Possible issues regarding:
Reputation of R&D&I eco-system, openness for involvement in networks, talent to transform an idea into a proposal, cost of wages of R&D&I staff , number of stakeholders targeted by the FP7 programme, availability of national budget, quality of research.
Policy dialogue is scheduled for May 27, 2014, located at the premises of the Representation in Bratislava.
